Crecencia S. "Chris" Alvarez

Crecencia S. "Chris" Alvarez, 81, Cicero, and a 46-year Atlanta resident, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at Sheridan Healthcare Center.  She was born January 1, 1929 in Austin, Texas to Guadalupe & Patricia (Sanchez) Soliz.  On August 4, 1948 she married Pedro Alvarez and he survives.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Arcadia Health Center for 10 years.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville.

Crecencia is survived by five children, Sylvia Rodriguez and husband Arnold, Cicero, Donna Alvarez, Tipton, Max Alvarez and wife Sandy, Atlanta, Dale Alvarez and wife Chris, Merced, California, and Patricia Tragesser, Atlanta; nine grandchildren, Christina Hinds, Daniel Rodriguez, Charles Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez, Amber Alvarez, Alex Alvarez, Celina Courtney, Chynna Tragesser and Jamieson Tragesser.

She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Austin Hinds, Sierra Hinds, Isaiah Rodriguez, Emilia Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Elijah Rodriguez, Isabel Rodriguez, Alivia Rodriguez and Brady Branstetter; two sisters, Vera Galvan, Austin, Texas, and Francis Villanueva, Houston, Texas.

Crecencia was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother, Trini Ramirez, Janie Sifuentez, Mary Louise Soliz, Isabel Perez and Fred Soliz, and one granddaughter, Brandie Stewart.

Her funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, Noblesville, with Rev. John Zahn presiding.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.   There will also be one hour of visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Cemetery, Tipton.
