Fred Bell

Fred E. Bell, 76 of Indianapolis, and formerly of Tipton, died at 3:22 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.  He was born October 22, 1937 in Kokomo to Frank E. & Helen E. (Partlow) Bell.  On April 14, 1963 he married Katherine Cockrill, she preceded him in death on October 3, 2005.  Fred then married Margaret (Bledsoe) Johnson on August 8, 2008 and she survives.

He was the owner of Bell's Hair Forum in Tipton since 1988 and had been a barber for over 50 years. Fred had also worked for Tenbrook Sales for several years.   He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tipton and also attended East 91st Street Christian Church in Indianapolis.  Fred was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine of Indianapolis.  He enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Indy Dancers, Swingin Singles and Do-Si-Squares dance clubs of Indianapolis and Noblesville.  He was a professional Collie trainer and handler.

Fred is survived by his wife, Margaret; two step-children, Paula Letro and husband Justin, Cicero, and Kimberly Lillge and husband Phil, Noblesville; seven step-grandchildren, Kayla Hiatt, Jordan Hiatt, Hayley Hiatt, Tara Ewing, Dayne Lillge, Laina Lillge, Tiffany Seekri; two step-great grandchildren, and a sister, Jane Walker and husband Bill, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by a step-son, Douglas M. DeFord.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Lawrence Hufhand  presiding with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday.
