Phyllis Mae Camp

Phyllis Mae Camp, 82 of Tipton died at 6:56 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Tipton Hospital.  Phyllis had previously lived in Anderson, Indianapolis, LaGrange and often wintered in Avon Park, Florida.  She was born on January 7, 1927 to Ray Hawkins and Fern (Hawk) Hawkins Rinker .  She married Stine Camp, and he preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a homemaker.  She belonged to the Lima Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Howe Home Ec. Club, Ladies Red Hat group, was a leader for the LaGrange Young Democrats, and a volunteer at the LaGrange Hospital.

She is survived by two children, Rhonda Mow and husband Mark in Egypt and Rodney Fletcher and wife Margaret of Noblesville, four siblings, Rollin and Ray Hawkins, Marylin Dixson and Pat Morton, two grandchildren, Clover Mow and Holly Bently and one great-grandchild, Ceda Mow.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m.  Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Howe, Indiana will follow at a later date.
