Jim W. Carter

Jim W. Carter, 68 of Kokomo died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his residence.  He was born in Tipton on January 31, 1947 to O. Earlin & Naoma Frances (Frost) Carter.

Jim had retired from the City of Kokomo Planning Commission and later was the Tipton County Planning Director.  He was a graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1965, a graduate of Indiana University and was a master gardener.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force.

Jim is survived by one son, Adam Carter, Indianapolis; two sisters. Sue Tidler and husband Joe, Florida and Nell Jean Lowry and husband Don, Kokomo.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Orvis Carter and one sister, Anna Friend.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Lefler presiding.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Burial will be in Kempton Cemetery at a later date.
