Manley B. Castner

Manley B. Castner, 71 Windfall and formerly of Kokomo, died at 8:06 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.  He was born May 7, 1940 in Kokomo to Kenneth and Daisy (Rodman) Castner.  On August 21, 1961 he married Patricia Ann Lawrence and she survives.

He retired from Milbank Manufacturing in Kokomo.  Manley was a member of the Family Worship Center in Kokomo where he served as an usher. He was also involved in hospital ministry, jail ministry, and Patricia and Manley played Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus through the church.  Manley was a big IU Basketball fan, Colts fan, loved watching old black and white westerns, and the Three Stooges. He also liked to play golf and loved biscuits and gravy.  In earlier years he attended Morning Star Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two children, Cary Allen Castner and wife Kim, New Washington, Indiana, Melissa Ann Myers and husband David, Windfall; six grandchildren, Adam Castner, Megan Castner, Micheal Myers, Taylor Castner, Paige Myers, Mason Castner; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Lillian; one brother, Andy Castner and wife Sue, Kokomo; one sister Imo Hunt, Kokomo; several nieces and nephews.  Manley was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Harold Castner, two brothers, Walter Castner, Jack Castner and a sister, Betty Warden.

Manley's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at the Family Worship Center, 1149 E. Center Road, Kokomo with Pastor James Bradley presiding and burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday all at the church.
