Alice D. Cook

Alice D. Cook, 89 of Tipton died at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at her residence.  She was born on May 15, 1925 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Otto & Dora (Liebenthal) Grueneberg.  Alice married Clifford Cook and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1987.

She was a homemaker.  Alice was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and helped with Ladies Aid.  She was also a member of TOPS and the Monday Night Club.  Alice loved to vacation with her family, especially fishing in Minnesota. She was know as the "life of the party".

Alice is survived by three sons, Dennis Cook and wife Pam, Tipton, Stevin Cook and wife Wanda, Elwood, and John Cook, Tipton; a daughter, Carol Crawford and husband Richard, Denton, Texas, six grandchildren, Karen Bocock and husband Dean, Kathy Dell and husband Brian, Linda Gill and husband Steve, Mason Cook, Eugenia Crawford, Joe Etter and wife Darlene; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Dell, Jamey Dell, Amber Dell, Clifford Bocock, Drew Gill, Nick Sottong, Kelli Gill, and Matthew Etter, great-great grandchildren, Kaiden Dell, Kennedy White, and Joseph Etter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Grueneberg and Clarence Grueneberg; three sisters, Meta Strehmel, Eona Staveness, and Violet Bruecher.

Funeral services for Alice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday,  February 17 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton with Rev. Robb Roloff presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
