James E. Creek

James E. Creek, 70, Tipton, died at 9:04 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.  He was born in Scottsville, Kentucky on September 23, 1937 to John Mitchell and Ruby May (Mitchell) Creek.  Jim married Carol Ann Scheerer on December 22, 1962, and she survives.

Jim retired in 1998 from Steel Parts after 42 years of employment.  He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Indianapolis and also the American Legion in Tipton.  He has served in the Army.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, one daughter, Mary Kugley and husband Ron, Tipton and one son William Creek, Tipton; one brother, Robert Patrick Creek Jr., Anderson one sister, Nancy Mitchell, Louisville, Kentucky, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Earl Creek, Bill Cline, Dorothy Blankenship, George Creek, John Benjamin Creek, Doodle Bug Creek, Lily Fink and Virgie Carter, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Kemp United Methodist Church in Tipton with Rev. David Perry and Rev. Phil Collier presiding.  Burial with military rites will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 -8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29  at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton and Friday at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
