Guy Crouch, Jr.

Guy Crouch, Jr., 89, a lifelong farmer in the Hobbs community of Tipton County died at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Tipton Hospital.  He was the son of Guy & Helen (Meyncke) Crouch.  On May 28, 1937 he married Louise Wilburn and she survives.

Guy had served as Madison Township Trustee and had also served as a Tipton County Councilman.  He was a member of the Tipton Community School Board and president of the Tipton County Livestock Breeders Association.

Guy was a ringmaster of the Tipton County 4-H livestock shows for many years and a strong supporter of the 4-H program.  He was an active member of the Hazel Dell Friends church, serving in many capacities.  He was a kind and loving husband and father.

Survivors besides his wife Louise include four children, Sherry Beach and husband Larry, Winamac, Tom Crouch and wife Betty, Lexington, Kentucky, Dan Crouch and wife Jane, Lisle, Illinois and Ann Swift, Tipton;10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Max Crouch, Tipton and several nieces and nephews.

Guy was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Clarence, Maurice and Bob Crouch; three sisters, MariLou Downs, and Ruth and Patti Crouch and one grandson.

Funeral services for Guy will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30 at the Hazel Dell Friends Church, 4017 E.  300 N., Windfall with David Freelan presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, and from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
