Ray Davis

Ray Davis, 86, Tipton, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at his residence.  He was born April 2, 1921 in Noblesville to William & Mae (Williams) Davis.  On December 7, 1946 he married Rena Anderson and she survives.

He worked at Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville, retiring in 1979 after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton and the American Legion.  Ray served in the U.S. Army during WWII and served with Patton's Headquarters. Ray and Rena spent 30 winters in Florida and enjoyed their many friends there.

Survivors besides his wife include two daughters and two sons, Christine Isaacson, Chicago, Ted Davis and wife Julie, Arcadia, Mark Davis and wife Suzie, Brownsville, Texas and Lisa Mahan and husband Mark, Fishers; two sisters, Ruth Hall, Indianapolis and Ethel Price, Noblesville; eight grandchildren, Bryan Richardson and wife Julie, Sean Davis and wife Ana, Cheryl Davis, Eric & Emma Mahan, Wesley, Mitch and Ashley Isaacson; several nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

His funeral will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 10 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton, with Rev. Kurt Gremel presiding.  Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the church.  Burial will be in Zimmer Cemetery, Noblesville, at a later date.
