Wilma Jean Dawson

Wilma Jean Dawson, 89 of Tipton and formerly of Kempton, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.  She was born September 11, 1921 in Tipton County to Aaron & Elizabeth (Etherington) McIntire.  On March 24, 1940 she married Paul R. Dawson and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2005.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Normanda Christian Church.  Wilma was a former Sunday School teacher and past president of the Ladies Aid and later the Fellowship Circle.  She was a member of the Rural Progress Home Ec Club and past president of the Tipton County Home Ec Clubs.  Wilma was a 1939 graduate of Prairie High School.

She is survived by two sons, Keith A. Dawson, Kokomo and Don Dawson and wife LaDonna, Kempton; one daughter, Linda Kelley and husband Mike, Sharpsville; five grandchildren, Angie Moore and husband JA, Marla McClatchie and husband Bryan, Paige Chmielewski and husband Mark, Heather Terry and husband Mike, and Chris Kelley and wife Christy. 

Wilma also has 12 great grandchildren, Bailey & Garrett Kelley, Brogan & Emily Terry,  Drew & Chloe Moore, Trevor Curran, James & Jacob McClatchie, and Zarik, Megan and Dawson Chmielewski; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Morrison.

Wilma's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 4, at the Normanda Christian Church, 8019 W. Division Road, Tipton, with Steve Brown presiding.  Burial will follow in Normanda Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, all at the church.
