Douglas M. DeFord

Douglas M. DeFord, 54, 335 Green Street, Tipton, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his residence.  He was born November 25, 1951, in Tipton to Max C. & Katherine L. (Cockrill) DeFord.  On August 23, 1998, he married Valarie A. Ford and she survives.

He was the owner of Dougbo's in Tipton.  He was a member of the West Street Christian Church and the American Trap Shooting Association.

Survivors besides his wife Valarie include one daughter, Tiffany L. Seekri and husband Inder, Kokomo, two sons, Jason E. Shupperd and fiancé Laura Kerwin, Noblesville, and Jeremy L. Shupperd and wife Nikki, Tipton; two sisters, Donna Steele and husband Bill, Kokomo, and Denise Piel and husband Mark, Windfall; six grandchildren, Burkely K. Seekri, Kensley R. Seekri, Jeremy L. Shupperd, Jr., Delilah R. Shupperd, Faith A. Foster and Abigail N. Kerwin; and a niece, Karrie B. Steele.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. John Tice presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
