Ruby L. Duckworth

Ruby L. Duckworth, 96 of Tipton died at 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital.  Ruby was born on May 29, 1918 in Boyleston, Indiana and had lived in Kempton for 89 years before moving to Autumnwood Village three years ago.  Her parents were Norvin F. & Nellie G. (Steward) Hubbartt.  On September 27, 1941 she married John W. Duckworth and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2001.

Ruby had retired from the Kempton Clinic in 1980.  She was a 50-year member of the Kempton Methodist Church.  She had attended Kempton High School and Fort Wayne State School.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane E. London-Pearson, Russiaville; one sister, Janice Monroe and husband Jack, Kokomo; one brother, Deward Hubbartt and wife Judy, Elwood; two grandchildren, Debra Morrow and Angela Herrmann; seven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and her cat, Fiona.

Ruby was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie J. Herrmann, one grandson, Mark London and siblings Fonda Slater, Dwaine Hubbartt, Emma Stanberry, Cleon Hubbartt and Martha Reed.

Private funeral services were held at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Knierim presiding.  Burial was in Kempton Cemetery.
