Jean E. Garmon

Jean E. Garmon, 66 of Tipton died at 2:18 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at I.U. North Hospital in Carmel.  She was born on September 17, 1949 in Noblesville to Willard B. & Glenna Irene (Wood) Venable.  She married Arcy Garmon on December 23, 1974 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2013.

Jean would be called a homemaker.  However, she was so much more than just that.  She spent her time doing whatever she could to make others happy.  She was truly an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed cooking for others, teaching her grandchildren to cook so her legacy would carry on, and traveling around to be a part of her loved ones lives.  Her greatest joy in life was found in always being together with her best friend, her beloved husband.  Their best memories were made during their times together at Silver Lake.

Jean is survived by eight children, Cathy Thurman and husband Ronnie, Marion, Phillip Garmon, Kansas City, Missouri, Deb Kirkpatrick and husband Tom, Van Buren, Melanie Bickhart and husband Phillip, Tampa, Florida,  Wendy Gibbs, Indianapolis, Tony Biddle, Noblesville, Mike Biddle, Greentown, Tina Fletcher and husband Tim, Carmel; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Venable, Carmel, Paul Venable and wife Rhonda, Noblesville; a sister, Amy Venable, Noblesville; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Venable, Carmel.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur " Butch" Venable and a sister, Sue Law.

Her funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Fr. Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Sunday.
