Myrtle Guffey

Myrtle Guffey, 94 of Windfall died at 2:57 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Fairmont Rehabilitation in Kokomo.  She was born on July 19, 1915 in Albany, Kentucky to William P. and America (Owens) Clark.  Myrtle married Ermon W. Guffey on December 30, 1940, he preceded her in death on February 14, 1994.

Myrtle was a homemaker.  She belonged to the Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville, and was a member of the 50+ club in Windfall.  She enjoyed quilting, tending to her flowers and playing the piano.

Survivors include 4 children, Willis G. Guffey and wife Lauri of Fernley, NV, James I. Guffey and wife Viola of Sharpsville, Charlene Helvey and husband Earnest of Windfall, Max DeRossett and wife Alieen of Windfall.  Grandchildren include Jim Guffey, Belinda Grawcock, Polly Wilson, Quincy Guffey, Kathy Whaley, Patty Mooney, Mark, Shawn and Tim DeRossett, Brandon Helvey, Mikal Guffey, Danielle Kiehn, Keenan Helvey, Glen, Aaron, Matthew, Shawna and Melissa Lockwood; 28 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Clark.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29 at the Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville with Rev. Dan Coomer presiding.  Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28  at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
