Everett E. Hughes

Everett E. Hughes, 52, Tipton, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was born June 2, 1955, in Tipton to John T. & Donna (Stout) Hughes.  On April 30, 2004 he married Diane M. (Zielke) Woodrum and she survives.

Everett was an insurance agent for 30 years and a bail bondsman for 25 years as well as a real estate agent. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Sons of the American Legion, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elk, Indiana Surety Bail Agent Association, Chamber of Commerce, Cicero Township Deputy Trustee, Quartermilers Auto Club, NHRA member, Life Member of the Kelley School of Business in the Indiana University Alumni Association, Independent Insurance Agents of America, Associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the Cicero Township Fire Department.

He was an avid race fan, especially NHRA drag racing.  He loved traveling, especially taking cruises and going to Las Vegas for the warm weather, shopping and a little blackjack.  He was a loving husband and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Diane; his mother, Donna Hughes, Tipton; and two children, Beau S. Woodrum and Shannon M. Woodrum, both of Tipton.

His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 1:00 p.m.
