Kenneth R. Hungate

Kenneth R. Hungate, 64 of Byhalia, Mississippi and a former Tipton resident passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.  Ken was preceded in death by his father Walter Hungate and his daughter, Christina Beth Hungate. 

His loving and mischievous manner will be missed by his wife Jeanie (Altherr) Hungate, his mother, Wilma (Smith) Hungate of Tipton, his daughter Lauri Ann Hungate,  Byhalia and his son Robert Hungate and wife Summer, Byhalia; his grandchildren Tyler, Sam, Emma, Sarah and Kassidy.

Ken is also survived by two sisters, Merlyn Sue Fulks, Phoenix, Arizona and Vicki Nelson, Tipton; two brothers Melvin Hungate, Byhalia and James Hungate, Atoka, Tennessee, and lots of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.  He was a hard worker and worked in the grocery and trucking industries.  Ken was a 1967 graduate of Tipton High School.

A graveside service for Ken will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 at St. John's Cemetery with Pastor Mark Ward presiding and burial to follow.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
