Mary Jayne Lewis

Mary Jayne Lewis, 84, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida died at Maple Park Village in Westfield at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2006. She was born August 29, 1922 in Indianapolis to Walter H. & Orpha B. (McDaniel) Hook.  She married William J. Lewis in 1945 and he died April 19, 1986.

She was retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson and was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church and Elwood Order of Eastern Star.  Mary volunteered at the Charlotte County Library and Port Charlotte Culture Center.  She was a member of the Port Charlotte Lady Elks.

Survivors include two daughters, Kristine J. Hughes and husband Don, Noblesville, and Kim A. Benny, Springhill, Florida; five grandchildren, Ryan William Hughes, Kyle Edward Hughes, Mandi J. Garcia, Krista Broshears and Kendra Hoyt; eight great-grandchildren, Juliana, Isabella and Isaiah Garcia, Simon, Abby and Charlie Hoyt, Kerry and Christian Broshears; and a special friend, Jerry Latham, in Port Charlotte.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Brock and entombment to follow in Elwood City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
