Myrtle H. Ley

Myrtle H. Ley, 94,  Tipton died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.  She was born July 3, 1913 in LaPorte, Indiana, to Grover & Sylvia (Collins) Marks. On January 6, 1931 she married Arthur N. Ley and he died November 3, 1983.  Myrtle was a housewife and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton.

She is survived by one son, Harold Ley and his wife Jane, Claypool, Indiana; three daughters, Barbara Schinlaub, Tipton, Rozela Voss and husband Tom, Cicero, and Kathleen Phillips and husband Yancey, Tipton; one sister, Lucille Hosier, Alexandria.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mark Schinlaub, Jill Rice, Karen Burris, Cheryl Young, Kenny Morris, Steve Morris, Danny Smith and Jenny Hearn; 12 great-grandchildren, Josh & Jaime McCullough, Kyle, Brittany and Erik Tragesser, Landon and Tanner Morris, Jake and Ashley Morris, Sean Smith, Cody Wright and Kimberly Hearn; one great-great-grandchild, Mason Tragesser.

Myrtle was preceded in death by one daughter, Florence Morris, one grandson, Christopher Phillips, one sister, Elnora Browning and one brother, Nicholas Von Bank.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 11 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m.
