Charles R. McIntosh, Sr.

Charles R. McIntosh, Sr., 85, Tipton, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas.  He was born January 2, 1923 in Tipton to Gerney & Esther (Pape) McIntosh.  On January 2, 1945 he married Emily Louise Beasley and she preceded him in death on December 7, 2006.

He was a sales representative for Air Chem Corporation.  Charlie was a Deacon at the West Street Christian Church, a member of the American Legion and the Tipton County Historical Society.  He was a member of Sigma Nu at Purdue University and was the Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 92 for many years.  Charlie was a volunteer at Tipton Hospital.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Charles R. McIntosh, Jr., Indianapolis, Deborah Louis Bussey and husband Henry, Lakehills, Texas, and Terry Samuel McIntosh and wife Kathy, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Hank Inman Bussey III, Kristin Louise Bussey-Smith, Elizabeth Marie Walker, Melanie Ruth Young, Jeremy Richard McIntosh, Gregory McIntosh and Jeffrey Roy McIntosh; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Inman Smith, Madeleine Mae Smith, Alexandria D'ann Bussey and Abigail Leona Bussey.

Charlie's funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Burns-Watson presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
