Dorothy B. Miller

Dorothy B. Miller, 92, of Tipton died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor.  She was born May 22, 1919 in Tipton County to Oscar & Bertha (Johnson) Hoover.  She married Imel Miller on October 28, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1982.

Dorothy was a homemaker, a former member of the Atlanta Christian Church, and a member of West Street Christian Church.  She was also a member of the Plum Grove Extension Homemakers Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.

She is survived by three children, Eric Miller, Macy, Indiana, Kent Miller and wife Audrey, Stoughton, Wisconsin and Rita (Miller) Simmons, Indianapolis; one step-son, Jackie Miller and wife Jeannine, Clovis, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Rachel Miller, Meegan Rowe and husband Jason, Casey Miller and wife Amyee, Danielle Laughry and husband David, Ian Simmons and wife Darlena, and Ethan Simmons; nine great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by five by sisters, La Vien Luttrell, Brownstown, Gretchen Fakes, Tipton, Evalyn Van Briggle, Elwood, Esther Humphries, Clovis, New Mexico, and Betty Jo Jarvis and husband Richard, McMinnville, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Hoover and C.W. Hoover; three sisters, Sarah Wiese, Althea Hoover, and Lloyd Carmichael.

Dorothy's memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26 at the West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church.
