Robert L. Mitchell

Robert L. "Bob" Mitchell of Noblesville passed away on July 3, 2013 at Harbour Manor Nursing Home in Noblesville.  Bob was 86 years old.  He was born in Tipton County to John A. and May (Askren) Mitchell.  He graduated high school from Walnut Grove.   Bob served in the US Navy during World War II.  He was a self employed contractor and entrepreneur and was a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW.  He enjoyed fishing, horses, and watching Indiana sports.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John K. Mitchell, and sister Lois I. Harger.

He is survived by three nieces, Catherine (Jim) Lampman of Spring, Texas, Annette (Jerry) Carignan of Anderson, Debra (Jerry) Garmon of Columbus, special friend and companion Barbara Mitchell, and LeAnna (Tracy) Grady of Noblesville, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be later on Thursday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding.  No visitation is planned.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
