Nancy L. Moore

Nancy L. Moore, 74, 415 Green Street, Tipton, died at 5:46 a.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006, at Tipton Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born July 3, 1931, in LaGrange, Indiana, to George H. & Francis (Reade) Sorg.  The family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she attended school until the eleventh grade, returning to LaGrange where she graduated her senior year.

She married Robert Moore on June 23, 1956, and he survives her after almost 50 years of marriage.  She was a homemaker and was formerly employed by Sears Roebuck in Kendallville, Indiana.  She was a cook at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton and was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton.

Survivors include her husband Robert of Tipton; four children, a son Gayle Moore, Massachusetts, a daughter, Robin Cook, Greenfield, Indiana, daughter Wreny Howell, Pendleton, Indiana, and a son Michael Moore, Bradenton, Florida.  Nancy also has eight loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Nancy was preceded in death by a grandson, Bobby Fortner.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Philabaun and Rev. Jack Masters.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
