Jeanne Neuendorf

Jeanne Neuendorf, 90 of Tipton died at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her daughter's residence.  She was born in Henry, Illinois on February 26, 1926 to Eugene & Capitola Mae (Smith) Rowe.  She married James R. Neuendorf on May 30, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2002.

Jeanne was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in LWML, Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and had been a Bible Class teacher.  She was a long-time member of the John Birch Society.

Jeanne's 90 years were characterized by faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ and a deep love for his word. She had confidence that her life would never end because nothing, not even death could separate her from the love of God which was God's gift to her through Jesus Christ. During her last years and especially the last weeks she was grateful for the strength and support that she received from Jesus, her many good friends, and especially her dear children. Even in the worst days of her illness she praised God for his good gifts, and said, "Jesus has been so good to me."

Survivors include her seven children, David Neuendorf and wife Patti, Aurora, Carol Owens, Tipton, Nancy Engle and husband Bruce, Valparaiso, Donald Neuendorf and wife Karen, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Daniel Neuendorf and wife Sue, Fortville, James Neuendorf and wife Liann, Warsaw and Robert Neuendorf and wife Karen, Aurora.

She is also survived by two sisters, Eunice McCauley, Princeton, Illinois and Ellen Ricci, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Jeanne will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton with Pastor Robb Roloff presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton, so that her earthly resting place will be with her beloved husband as they await the resurrection to everlasting life.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
