Don E. Orr

Don E. Orr, 90 of Tipton died Friday, November 2, 2012 at his residence.  He was born April 1, 1922 in Atlanta, Indiana to Garland & Irene (Bryant) Orr.  On December 28, 1941 he married Juanita Hawkins and she survives.

He was a farmer and purebred swine producer.  Don graduated in 1940 from Goldsmith High School.  He was a member of Atlanta Christian Church and attended East Union Christian Church.  Don served on Jefferson Township Advisory Board and as past President of the Tipton Community School Board.  He was also a member of Kempton Lions Club, a Third Degree Mason and past Master, Scottish Rite, B.P.O. of Elks, and Tipton County Livestock Breeders Association.

Don is survived by his wife Juanita, three children, Don Orr Jr. and wife Pam, of Noblesville, Mike Orr and wife Debbie, of Cicero, Janet Boyer and husband Mark, Kempton; five grandchildren, David Orr and wife Kara, Daniel Orr and wife Celina, Whitney Orr, Bryant Boyer and  Blaire Boyer; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Orr, Silas Orr, and Phoebe Orr; a sister, Carol Wade, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a half-brother, Gordon Orr, of Tipton.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Dee Florey. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Dunning presiding. Burial will follow in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
