Freda P. Pearce

Freda P. Pearce, 95 of Kokomo and a long time Tipton resident died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence.  She was born May 4, 1916 in Goldsmith to Arnell & Barbara (Suver) Shaw.  On January 3, 1937 she married Robert Alan Pearce and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1993.

Freda was a long time manager of the Polar Bear in Tipton.  She was a member of West Street Christian Church and the Leah Circle at the church.  Freda was a life-long caregiver who took care of several family members and friends in their time of need.

She is survived by a son, Michel Alan Pearce and wife Cheryl, Kokomo; one daughter-in-law, Andrea (Pearce) White, Tipton; eight grandchildren, Erik Pearce and wife Sara, Amy (Pearce) Stouder and husband Kevin, Brian Pearce and wife Sarah, Brad Pearce and wife Leah, Daron Pearce, Deborah Pearce, Elizabeth (Pearce) O'Brian and husband Sean, Jeremy Mundy; nine great-grandchildren, Emma Kelly, Drew & Eli Pearce, Owen & Isaac O'Brian, Colten Pearce, Tyra, Justis, and Fain Mundy; several beloved nieces and nephews.

Freda was preceded in death by a son, Robert Richard "Rick" Pearce, a brother, John Shaw, and a sister Nedra (Shaw) Aldridge.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1 at the Tetersburg cemetery with burial to follow.  There will be no visitation.
