Joseph D. Ploughe

Joseph Dan Ploughe, 69, Windfall, passed at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his residence.  He was born September 18, 1940 in Kokomo to Noble Martin Ploughe and Dorothy (Redman) Ploughe McClellan.  On November 6, 1965 he married Carol Graham and she survives.

He was a banker and had worked at Union State Bank and First Farmers Bank & Trust, retiring in 2003. Joe was a member of the Windfall Christian Church and an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a past president of the Windfall Lions Club and had held various offices within the club and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. 

He was a past member of the Gideon's and past director of Winston-Salem Bible College.  He had also started a church jail ministry.  Joe was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School in 1960.  His interests included church, golf, photography and travel.

He is survived by his wife Carol (Graham) Ploughe; two sons, Anthony Martin Ploughe, Seattle, Washington and Christopher Graham Ploughe, Windfall and his twin sister, Judith Ann Morgan and husband Bryce, Chesterton.  Joe was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Lovevern Off, Noble "Sonny" Lamar Ploughe, Luellen Vandevender and Larry Ploughe.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Roudebush presiding.  Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall.  Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
