Tanya Sue (Phifer) Reed

Tanya Sue (Phifer) Reed, 43, Noblesville, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at her residence.  She was born September 24, 1964 in Tipton to Thomas & Susan (Leach) Phifer and both survive.  Tanya passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Tanya was a loving mother of two sons, Kyle and Zachary Reed.  She spent her life dedicated to her children, taking the most pride in their successes and accomplishments.  Tanya also worked as an administrative assistant for American Contact Lens Services in Indianapolis.  In taking an active role in her children's lives, Tanya found herself volunteering and coaching in the Westfield Youth Sports League.  She served as president of the league for a number of years as well as coaching her children in baseball and basketball.  Tanya was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church.

Tanya graduated from Tipton High School in 1983.  After graduation, Tanya spent a number of years as an administrative assistant for the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office.  She also worked for Indiana Mills and Manufacturing, Inc.  In her spare time, she cared and tended to horses.

Surviving family include both of her children, her mother and father, Susan & Thomas Phifer, Tipton; two brothers, Tony Phifer and wife Christine, son Dawson and daughter Megan, Zionsville, and Travis Phifer and wife Chasity, son Trayjan and daughter Jie, Noblesville.  She is also survived by her grandparents Jack & Wilma Leach, Atlanta, aunts and uncles Myrna & Denny Brady, Noblesville, and Theresa & Steve Ehman, Tipton, as well as several cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Margaret & Wilbur Phifer.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at the Atlanta Christian Church, 200 East Main Street, Atlanta, with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson Street, Tipton, and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the funeral.
