Dorothy M. Ressler

Dorothy M. Ressler, 92 of Tipton died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.  She was born June 11, 1916 in Tipton County to Elza & Carrie (Wittman) Duncan.  On February 21, 1944 she married Dallas W. Ressler and he died September 2, 2006.

She was a farmer, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a 1934 graduate of the St. Joseph Academy and later the Indiana Business College. Dorothy worked as an executive secretary in Kokomo and as a cook at Tipton Middle School. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. John's.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Barbara Trathen and husband Thomas, Noblesville, Dennis Ressler and wife Regina, Westfield, and Gregory Ressler and wife Rebecca, Tipton; and five grandchildren, Tonia Trathen, Kristin Ressler, Kara Ressler, Henry Ressler and Rachael Ressler.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annamae Enneking and Pauline Meyncke and one granddaughter, Amy Trathen.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. and a rosary service to follow.
