Mary Lou Roberts

Mary Lou Roberts, 89 of Sheridan passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Sheridan Healthcare Center.  She was born in Tipton on August 12, 1925 to Otho & Josephine (Lakey) Williams. Mary Lou had also lived in Dandridge, Tennessee, Indianapolis and Danville, Indiana. She married Floyd Snyder and later married William A. Roberts on July 4, 1976.  He preceded her in death on December 24, 1981.

Mary Lou had worked at the Tipton Tribune, as a secretary for an insurance company and then at Hearthstone Log Homes in Tennessee.  She was a member of the West Street Christian Church while living in Tipton.  She was a graduate of Tipton High School and belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship in Newport, Tennessee.  She loved to sew and quilt.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Fine and husband Clarke, Schiller Park, Illinois and Betty Jo Clark and husband Craig, Noblesville; three grandchildren, Jeff Fine, Amy Nichols and Tara McLennan; eight great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Raymond Williams, Betty J. Williams, Phyllis (Beck) Roberts and Joyce Jaqua; one half-sister Bea Wicken and three step-sons.
