R. Rance Rogers
R. Rance Rogers, 50, Tipton, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 29,
2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born
August 15, 1962 in Tipton to Richard G. & Yolanda M. (Pollo) Rogers.
He was baptized at West Street Christian Church. Rance was a
4-H club member, an artist, and a Boy Scout. He would have
been an Eagle Scout if he had acquired two more Merit Badges.
His hobbies included riding horses, where he entered contests for
barrel racing, flags, and pole racing. Rance began playing
baseball at the age of five and continued to play through his junior
year at Tipton High School. He played tennis for two years in
high school winning trophies for most improved player. All of
his aspirations ceased when he had a car accident during his senior
year of high school, leaving him disabled.
Rance is survived by his parents, Yolanda Rogers, of Tipton and
Richard Rogers, of Elwood; a sister, Adriana Rogers, of Tipton; a
nephew Rance DeLano Rogers, of Tipton; a great nephew, Kaiden
Rogers, of Tipton; aunt and uncle, Terresa and Jim Grabe, and
family, of Ohio, Rialin Pollo and family, of New Mexico, cousins
Tracy Dragoo, of Noblesville, Brad Dragoo, of North Webster, and
Terri Wagoner, of North Webster. He was preceded in death by
several aunts and uncles.
Rance and his mother, Yolanda's funerals will
be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at the West Street Christian
Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Cremation will
follow. Visitation for both will be from 4:00 - 8:00
p.m. Saturday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 1:00 - 2:00
p.m. Sunday at the church.
