Ranny J. Russell

Ranny J. Russell, 73 of Tipton died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his residence.  He was born April 24, 1937 in Tipton County to Clarence "Bus" and Earline (Kinder) Russell.  Ranny married Mary Lee Doke on November 21, 1975 and she survives.

He worked in Skilled Trades for Perfect Circle (Dana Corp) from 1955-1980, Allison Transmission from 1981-1997 and served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962.  Ranny was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, loved sports, traveling, his grandchildren's activities, and was a Blue Devil fan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee; four daughters, Joyce, Linda, Nancy, and Marlene; a stepson, Rich Roudebush and wife Jill, Tipton; a stepdaughter, Rae Butler and husband Jeff, Tipton; four grandsons, Kyle Tilley, Koby, Kinnon, and KJ Roudebush; a sister, Sharon Yarbrough and husband Bob, Manassas, Virginia.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Russell; and a sister, Joan Burket. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastors Doug Slack, Keith Moreen and Bob Yarbrough presiding.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton with Military Rites.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
