Roger W. Spivey

Roger Wayne Spivey, 71 of Tipton, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his residence.  He was born May 8, 1943 in Holland, Kentucky to Albert Reese & Wilma Dean (Mahaney) Spivey.  He married Betty Lou Carter on December 31, 1960 and she survives.

Roger retired from the auto body repair business.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion.  He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed wintering in the Florida Keys.  Roger was in the United States Army from 1960-1962 and a member of the National Guard from 1962-1968.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; two children, Deanna Lou "Dee" Lloyd and husband Mike, Indianapolis, Rogenia Ann "Gina" Rose and husband Jeff, Indianapolis; a brother Danny Spivey, Tipton; six grandchildren, Zackary M. Clark and wife Dacia, Kiera N. Palmieri and husband Chris, Mya J. Clark, Kodi R. Melson, Megan Lloyd (Erik Miller), and Justin Lloyd; eight great-grandchildren, Libbi, Evan, Kamryn, Kingston, Tila, Gabe, Trent and Trey.

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Cathy Spivey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Drake presiding.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will also be on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
