Thelma R. Sweet

Thelma R. Sweet, 92, Tipton, died at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Autumnwood Extended Care in Tipton.  She was born May 18, 1914, in Tipton County to Clark & Amanda (Rode) Redmon.  She married Guy V. Henry in 1936 and he was killed in France during WWII in 1944. She later married Nathan Sweet in 1955 and he died September 4, 1999.

She was member of the East Union Christian Church, Rosary Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Worth Whyle Extension Homemakers Club, and a member of the Atlanta Past Matrons and Past Patrons Organization.

Surviving are two sons, Vernon Henry and wife Sue, Fishers, and Don Henry and wife Kay of Atlanta; two step-daughters, Ruth Ann Clingenpeel and husband LaVerne, Cambridge City and Mary Adams and husband Jon of Kokomo; two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great grandchild.

One sister, Martha Ellen Redmon is deceased.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Rex Dunning.  Burial will be in East Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
