E. Louise Tolle

E. Louise Tolle, 98 of Windfall, and formerly of Jerome entered into heavenly rest at 10:29 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown.  She was born February 25, 1918 in Frankfort to William "Bill" & Ruth (Tony) Pettay.  She married the love of her life, H. Lavon Tolle on October 25, 1936 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1993.

Louise was a housewife to a farmer and attended Hazel Dell Church.  She grew up in Howard County and attended Union Township High School.  She loved to sing, quilt, play bingo and shuffleboard.  She played on an international shuffleboard team for 12 years playing in Canada and Japan.  In 1992 she was inducted into the National Shuffleboard Hall of Fame.

She is survived by two children, Mary E. Summers and husband Ron, Markleville, Indiana, Michael J. Tolle and wife Jennie, Windfall; one daughter-in-law, Judy Tolle and one sister-in-law, Nell Pettay.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Roseanne Lord and husband Doug, Marita Bower and husband William, Linda Carter, Nikki Coushman and husband Michael, R.J. Sutphin III and wife Heather, Kristina Sutphin-Carter and Al, "Buck" Christopher Evans and wife Lana, and Melanie Zollman and husband Brian.

Louise is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, Megan Stofer and husband Ben, Adrienne Jenkins and husband Rob, Jon-Thomas Lord, Corbin Bower, Landon Bower, Mikayla Coushman, Mitchell Coushman, Korey Carter, Robert Carter, Mason Zollman, Hallie Zollman, Mara Zollman, Harrison Sutphin, Colin Sutphin, Alyssa Seals and husband Steven, Caitlyn Evans and Isaac Evans.

Also surviving are four great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Jenkins, Rylee Jenkins, Beckett Stofer and Halley Mae Seals.  Louise was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Ann Sutphin and one son, John A. Tolle; three brothers, Paul Pettay, John Pettay and Kenneth Pettay; one sister, Wilma Pettay; one great-grandson, Zane Zollman and one great-great-grandson, Connelly Stofer.

Louise's funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Dave Freelan presiding.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
