Arthur Trusty

Arthur Trusty, 84, Kokomo, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his residence after a six-month illness.  He was born September 25, 1925 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Estile & Elizabeth (Wireman) Trusty.  On April 19, 1957 he married Beverly J. Huse and she survives.

He was the owner of Pitch-Lined Burial Vaults in Kokomo for 46 years.  Art was a member of One Accord Community Church.  He was named Businessman of the Year for Who's Who and was an honorary police officer for the Kokomo Police Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and was a POW for 4 1/2 months.  He was also awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife Beverly; eight children Judy Pearson, White City, Oregon, Anthony Trusty, Greentown, Karen Trusty, Kokomo, Peggy Riebe and husband Bill, Kokomo, Mike Trusty and wife Jenny, Galveston, Jeff Trusty, Indianapolis, Janet Kitts, Kokomo, and John Trusty and wife Brenda, Kokomo.

Art is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Ethel Stine and husband Paul, Kokomo, Harold Trusty, Chicago, Jean Shelton and husband George, Burlington, and Ed Trusty and wife Carol, Georgia; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur Trusty, Jr. and Raymond Trusty.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26 at the One Accord Community Church, 2015 East Carter Street, Kokomo, with Revs. Scott Butzin and Gary Carpenter presiding. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
