Paul C. Upchurch

Paul C. Upchurch, 93 of Greentown, and formerly of Tipton and Windfall, died at 10:54 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown.  He was born October 16, 1918 in Beaver Creek, Kentucky to Sam & Mary (Bell) Upchurch.  On September 20, 1946 he married Wilma McClish and she preceded him in death on February 5, 1989.

Paul was the owner of Windfall Plumbing, Heating & Electrical.  He belonged to the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge, both in Windfall.  Paul served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He is survived by two sons, Gerry Upchurch and wife Choi, Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Mick Upchurch and wife Linda, Scottsdale, Arizona; five grandchildren, Matt Upchurch and wife Kim, Tipton, Jenny Dishner and husband Ryan, Kokomo, Chris Upchurch, Elizabethtown, Cam Upchurch, Nashville, Tennessee and Zac Upchurch, Tempe, Arizona. 

Paul is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Lilly, Elizabeth and Mattingly Upchurch, Tyler Grubb and Brayden and Parker Dishner; one sister, Bernice Duncan, Tipton and two special friends, Terri Stout and Cathy Caldwell.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Upchurch.

Paul's funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Kevin Carr presiding.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall, with military honors.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
