Dale Vandevender

Dale Vandevender, 75, Tipton, died at 5:27 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.  He was born November 14, 1932, in Tipton to Oral and Mary Elizabeth (Manlove) Vandevender.  On February 14, 1958, he married Patty Teter and she survives.

He worked at Chrysler retiring in 1990.  Dale attended Tetersburg Christian Church and had served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors besides his wife Patty include two sons, Dennis Vandevender and wife Lydia, Goldsmith, Rick Vandevender, Normanda; one daughter, Regina Neff and husband Ron, Tipton; seven grandchildren, Mary, Abby, and Jack Neff, Evan and Trevor Vandevender, Josh and Jarryd Jefferies.

Dale is also survived by one brother, Claude Vandevender, Sand Creek, MI; one sister, Honor Glasser, Tipton.  Three brothers, Wallace, Russell and Noel Vandevender preceded him in death.

His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Mangold and Pastor Kurt Gremel presiding.  Burial with military rites will be in Tetersburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
