Jeanine D. Wade

Jeanine D. Wade, 75 of Tipton died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at her residence.  She was born December 5, 1939 in Brownsville, Texas to Leslie & Delight (Thurston) This.  On August 24, 1963 she married Wayne Wade and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1997.

Jeanine was a teacher, retiring from Tipton High School after teaching French and Latin.  She was a member of the West Street Christian Church, the Indiana State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.  She received her BA from William and Mary and her MA from Ohio State University.

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Wade Berry and husband Joseph Berry, Jr., Chicago; one grandson, Joseph Berry III; one brother, James This and wife Sue, Olympia, Washington, one sister, Jill Altemose and husband Ed, Winchester, Virginia, and one brother-in-law, Jeff Davis, Indianapolis. 

She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Wade and one sister, Lesly Davis.

A memorial service for Jeanine will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 at West Street Christian Church, 132 N. West Street, Tipton, with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
