Rita M. Wanner

Rita M. Wanner, 72, Danville, died at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville.  She was born August 23, 1933, in Elwood to William A. & Wilma (Arnett) Cole and lived there until 1951.  She also lived in Tampa, Florida from 1951-54; Tipton from 1954-84; Arcadia, Florida 1984-89; Atlanta, Indiana, 1989-2000; and in Danville since 2000.  In August 1952 she married Albert L. Wanner and he died September 5, 1979.

She had worked as a Wal-Mart Associate and at Mallory's in Frankfort, retiring in 1997.  Rita was a member of the Ash Street Wesleyan Church in Tipton.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William L. & Jatara L. Wanner, Danville; one granddaughter, Audrey Rose Wanner; four brothers, Howard Cole, Las Kingman, Arizona, Don Cole, Sterling Heights, Michigan, Richard Cole, Goldsmith, Indiana, and Charles Cole, Racine, Wisconsin; four sisters, Norma Criner, Elsie, Michigan, Rachel Blodgett, Racine, Wisconsin, Lynn Russell, Urich, Missouri, and June Cole, Urich, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Logan Westrick presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
