Robert Lee Wheat

Robert Lee Wheat, 78, 135 Third Street, Tipton, and a previous Kokomo resident, died at 5:47 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Manor Care in Kokomo.  He was born December 16, 1927 in Holt,  Missouri to Oral & Dora (Kingery) Wheat.  On December 31, 1949, he married Wilma Duffitt and she died December 27, 2005.

He worked at Steel Parts Corporation in Tipton for over 40 years and was a member of Harbour Shores Church in Cicero. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean War.

Survivors include one son, Larry Lee Wheat and wife Elaine, Greenfield; two daughters, Sharon Kay Linerode and husband Steve, Tipton and Carol Ann Howell and husband Lynn, Boise Idaho; one daughter-in-law, Linda Wheat, Noblesville; nine grandchildren, Larry Wheat II, Laura Penley, Lewis Wheat, Christy Baldwin, Brad Linerode, Eric Linerode, Nicole Sperl, Danny Denato and Jason Query; eleven great-grandchildren, Trey Penley, Maryssa Penley, LeeAnn Penley, Nathan Baldwin, Jennifer Baldwin, Victoria Wheat, Kyrstyn Ault, Karyssa Sperl, Kolbee Denato, Mara Wheat and Jhia-Vhonnii Wheat.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Brown, Oma Dell Bryant, Mildred Wheat and Dorothy Tomey, one brother, Amos June Wheat, and one great-grandchild, Abigail Wheat.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Don Jennings presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
