Raymond C. Wright

Raymond C. Wright, 77 of Tipton died on Friday, April 1, 2016 at his residence.  He was born in Indianapolis on March 1, 1939 to Raymond J. & Alma L. (Walton) Wright.  On October 6, 1966 he married Joyce Fay Garmon and she preceded him in death on February 21, 1995.

Raymond was a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis.  He worked at Chrysler in Kokomo from 1971 until he retired in 1999.  He loved watching TV especially old Westerns, Archie Bunker, The Honeymooners and McHale's Navy.  In earlier years Raymond enjoyed painting and he taught himself to play the guitar and harmonica.  He was a big fan of Johnny Cash and loved to eat at Long John Silvers.  Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Raymond has been supported by his extended family since he lost the love of his life, Joyce, in 1995.

Survivors include one sister, Pat Orcutt, Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Anna Kerfoot and husband Mike, Noblesville and Linda Altherr and husband Kenny, Tipton; one brother-in-law Jerry Garmon and wife Debra, Florida; several nieces and nephews.  Raymond was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Carpenter.

Following Raymond's wishes private family services will be held with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
