Stanley L. "Stan" Young

Stanley L. "Stan" Young, 79 of Tipton died at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. He was with his wife and daughters at the time of his passing. Stan was born in Crawfordsville on September 8, 1935 to Marion B. & Nina (Stanley) Young. On October 24, 1958 he married Carolyn A. Baxter and she survives.

Stan was a car dealer and car salesman extraordinaire for 55 years and had a true passion for selling cars.  He was a member of the West Street Christian Church and served as a Deacon.  Stan was a former member of the Tipton Elks Club. He had served as the Tipton County Park Board President.  His design of the Tipton Municipal Golf Course Club House and securing lights for the park's basketball court along with the sand volley ball court were part of his contributions during his term on the Park Board. 

Stan enjoyed model airplanes and good conversation with friends and family. He always enjoyed a spirited political debate.  Stan attended Tipton High School, Purdue University, and Indiana University.  He was a member of Acacia Fraternity.  He served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn; three daughters, Lucinda "Cindy" Thompson and husband John, Tipp City, Ohio. Krista Young Conde, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Kimberly "Kimi" Young, Tipton; grandson, Brock W. Bagley and wife Casey; and a great-granddaughter, Bianca Bagley.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18 at the West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.   Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Stan was a beloved husband, treasured father and adored grandfather who will continue to hold a presence in his families hearts through his memories that are cherished by those he left behind.
