Danny T. Spivey, 70 of Tipton died on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital, Carmel. He was born October 3, 1946 in Scottsville, Kentucky to Albert R. & Wilma D. (Mahaney) Spivey. He married Cathy J. Henn on October 29, 1965 and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2014.

Dan was a graduate of Tipton High School and had worked in management at Delco in Kokomo, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and loved his dog Lilly who was a furry little daughter to him.

Dan is survived by one daughter April D. Spivey, Tipton; one son Matt Spivey-Bevington and spouse Marty Spivey-Bevington, Elwood; a sister-in-law, Betty Spivey, Tipton; one brother-in-law, Tony Henn and wife Jennifer of Elwood; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger W. Spivey.

A memorial service for Dan will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in Dan’s honor may be made to either the City of Elwood Humane Shelter, 1505 S. “B” Street. Elwood, Indiana, 46036; Love of Labs of Indiana (lolin.org), 8063 Madison Avenue, #235, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46227 or Pals for Pets of Tipton County, 796 S.     Didn’t get to know Dan for very long but I really enjoyed our short time together. I do know he raised some great kids and was very proud of his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to April, Matt, Marty, and the rest of his family.
