Danny T. Spivey
Danny T. Spivey, 70 of Tipton died on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital, Carmel. He was born October 3, 1946 in Scottsville, Kentucky to Albert R. & Wilma D. (Mahaney) Spivey. He married Cathy J. Henn on October 29, 1965 and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2014.
Dan was a graduate of Tipton High School and had worked in management at Delco in Kokomo, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and loved his dog Lilly who was a furry little daughter to him.
Dan is survived by one daughter April D. Spivey, Tipton; one son Matt Spivey-Bevington and spouse Marty Spivey-Bevington, Elwood; a sister-in-law, Betty Spivey, Tipton; one brother-in-law, Tony Henn and wife Jennifer of Elwood; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger W. Spivey.
A memorial service for Dan will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions in Dan’s honor may be made to either the City of Elwood Humane Shelter, 1505 S. “B” Street. Didn’t get to know Dan for very long but I really enjoyed our short time together. I do know he raised some great kids and was very proud of his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to April, Matt, Marty, and the rest of his family.
