Donna J. Whisler

Donna J. WhislerDonna J. Whisler, 77 of Goldsmith died at 5:17 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Vincent - Kokomo Hospital.  She was born on April 18, 1938 in Tipton County to Garnet "Jake" & Mildred (Carter) Phifer and she was raised by Edith & Harry Boyer.  On June 30, 1956 she married Richard " Dick" Whisler and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1997.Donna worked in the Physical Therapy Department at Tipton County Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Goldsmith United Methodist Church and had attended Jefferson Township High School.  Donna enjoyed cooking and taking care of kids.  She was well known for her chicken and noodles at many church events.  Many holidays she invited extra people over for dinner.  She was a big bundle of love wrapped up in a tiny package.Donna is survived by three children, Kevin Whisler, Sheridan, Phillip Whisler and wife Eva, Goldsmith, Jeff Whisler and wife Kelli, St. Charles, Illinois; five grandchildren, Nathan Whisler, Tyler Whisler, Korey Whisler, Paula Whisler, Emily Whisler; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Kyden.She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lois Jean Eads, Betty Jo Baxter, Barbara Ann Cunningham, and Juanita "Poke" Mobley.Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Weber presiding.  Burial will follow in Tetersburg Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday.
