Evelyn L. Conaway, 75 of Tipton and formerly of Ocala, Florida, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at her residence. She was born on July 6, 1941 in Tipton to Cecil and Helen (Tragesser) Jones. On August 1, 1971 she married William Allen "Bill" Conaway and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2008.

She was a member of the Rock Prairie Church. Evelyn enjoyed serving in the church and spending fellowship time with her Jubilee class. She spent most of her life as as a stay at home Mom raising her four children and a devoted wife to her husband. Evelyn and Bill spent several years as owner operators driving a semi truck across our country and loved spending time together and enjoyed traveling to new places. Evelyn spent her life helping others, being a friend to everyone and always lending a helping hand to those in need.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. Conaway. Evelyn is survived by a son Jeff Conaway and companion Jan McCorkle, Tipton; two daughters, Cheryl Pickett and husband Steve, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Jennifer Conaway, Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Jeremy Conaway, Ashley Deer and husband Logan, Stacy Jarrell and husband Aaron, Jamie Phifer and husband Brandon, Joshua Pickett, Jeremiah Pickett; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Jarrell and companion Tyler Nation, Makayla Jarrell, Delaney Phifer, Kenzie Phifer; one great-great-grandchild, Kayden Nation.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2 at Rock Prairie Baptist Church, 421 Ash Street, Tipton, with Pastor Kevin Carr presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday all at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
