Jack Ragan of New Port Richey, Florida, and a former Tipton resident, died on April 20, 2017 in New Port Richey. He was born on December 21, 1936 in Tipton County to Ray & Lucille Ragan.

Jack attended Tipton High School and was a drill press operator at Delco Remy from 1953 to 1955. He served four years in the United States Air Force, from September 1, 1955 to October 31, 1959 as Airman 2nd Class. Jack was also a Police Officer for Tipton from 1962 to 1984, serving as a patrolman and Sergeant. After retiring he moved to Florida where he enjoyed fishing and boating.

He is survived by two sons, Ray Ragan, North Carolina and William Ragan, South Carolina; two sisters, Joyce Ebert, Scottsdale Arizona, and Reba Howery, Tipton. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Delores Gardner.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

    I a man so sorry for the families loss, Jack was a wonderful Tipton Police Officer, kind and fair. Pray his later years after retirement were good and he was happy right up to the time God took him home.
