James “Jim” L. Cripe, Jr.

James “Jim” L. Cripe, Jr. 55 of Whitestown died Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Logansport, Indiana on March 26, 1968 to James L. Cripe, Sr. and Evelyn (Odom) Brown. On March 31, 2001 he married his love, Angela Huse.

Jim worked in the automotive service industry. He was a devoted family man, always enjoying time with his children. He could often be found at the bowling alley, working on that elusive perfect 300 game. Jim followed the Chicago Cubs and watched many NASCAR races. Overall, he was a kind hearted man, a very dedicated and strong individual who could come back with a quick witted one liner or joke and was exceptionally knowledgeable with random trivia facts. He was certainly a fun spirited guy to be around who could always make you laugh.

Survivors include his wife Angela, children Taylor and Jeremy Cripe, his mother Evelyn Brown of Cicero, father James Cripe Sr and wife Karen of Logansport, siblings Sheri Gruwell and husband Tim of Daleville, Indiana, Joe Brown and wife Christy of Cicero, Cory Cripe and wife Melissa of Logansport and Shane Cripe and wife B.J. of Fishers.

Jim was preceded in death by his dad, Richard “Rick” Lee Brown, his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Zimmerman presiding. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday starting at Noon until service time.
