Janice (Off) Morehead, 78 of Tipton and previously of Kokomo, died at 2:05 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born in Tipton County on October 7, 1939 to Thomas K. & Elizabeth (Alley) Harper.  On December 29, 1996 she married Theodore L. “Ted” Morehead and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1998.

Janice had worked at Miller’s Merry Manor as an LPN, McDonald’s as a shift manager, Dollar General in Indianapolis, J.C. Penney store in Tipton as a stockroom manager, in the GTE Building with ARA Foods, and Windsor Estates in Kokomo.  She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1957 and J. Everett Light Career Center in 1990 where she studied to become an LPN.  Janice was a member of the Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 4-H leader of Beech Grove 4-H Club, and a member of Silver Bells Extension Homemakers Club.  She was also a past member of Ladies of the Moose and Ladies of the Elks.

Janice is survived by six children, Christi L. Dean and husband Robert, Tipton, Brian K. Harper and wife Tina, Sharpsville, Cathy A. Highley and husband Jerry, Yorktown, Robert Off and wife Kathy, Tipton, Sheila Off and partner Bill, Kokomo, and Jane Thomas, Kokomo; a brother, David Harper and wife Debbie, Florida.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson along with several nieces, nephews, and other adopted family members. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Miller; a grandson and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Carr presiding.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kokomo. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday.
