Leroy OwensLeroy Owens, 82 of Tipton died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at his residence.  He was born September 1, 1928 in Tipton to Charles Andrew Owens & Donna (Needham) McCubbins Owens.  On November 1, 1946 he married Ruby Nell Marshall and she preceded him in death on March 2, 1999.Leroy was a carpenter.  He attended the West Street Christian Church and was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge.Leroy is survived by four sons, Steven Lee Owens and wife Carol, Tipton, Dennis Neal Owens and wife Juanita, Indianapolis, Billy Joe Owens, Tipton and K. Douglas Owens, Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Justin Scott Owens, Cory Matthew Owens and wife Heather, Aaron Thomas Owens, Heather Michelle Owens, Angela Christine Cowherd and husband John and Kyle Bradley Owens; two great-grandchildren, Noah Keegan Street and David Charles Owens; one sister, Joan Sharp, Elwood.He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Raymond McCubbins, Margaret Holmes, Thelma Burns, Mary Miller, Nettie Langley, Lena Rice, Betty Fenn, Phil Miller and Billie Owens.His funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 24 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday.Memorial contributions may be made to the West Street Christian Church, 132 N. West Street, Tipton, Indiana.
