  1. Mike worked with me in support MWSA since 2009. As an author, he never really knew just how talented he was so he worked harder than everyone else on his books. I will miss him on so many levels,,,artistically, as a colleague, as a tenderhearted warrior who was devoted to his veteran friends, as a gentle peacemaker, and as a sensitive poet who touched everyone around him. He was also my “ponder” bud who would patiently follow me down my literary bunny trails, giving me ideas I would never have come up with on my own, but refused credit for them when he saw the results.. He didn’t like to be edited himself and dreaded that process as we readied The Drifter for publication…but inevitably, he produced work that won award after award. And, Mike made us laugh.

I will miss him. Sending much love to Phyllis who Mike adored and often declared how lucky he was when she came into his life.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I didn’t know him as an adult and lost contact after school at Windfall WHS. Mike hit me with a snowball outside the Methodist church and got my tie wet one morning. He was so apologetic and remorseful that it made me feel sorry for him. Let’s see… what would that have been? About 1962, I’d say.

I’d heard that a Michael Mullins had written a book but I didn’t know it was him – the same kid I’d known in bible study and school. It sounds like he lived a very full and eventful life. I’m sorry that his earthly time here is over. He was a really nice boy and apparently a very nice man in later years. May God continue to bless and keep you, Mike.

Mike is one of my heroes. He welcomed me into our writing group and welcomed me into the brotherhood of army veteran brothers, and he was very loyal and dedicated to all three — writing, his service, and his friends. He loves his family, and I do intend to write in the present tense, and his community and church. I hope that we will take his passing as the opportunity to live up to his example.

He made the world a better place. He made us better people.
    God bless you Mike
